The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) has released its 2020 list of the top transportation companies for females.
The annual Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation list was created by WIT magazine Redefining the Road in 2018 as part of its mission to promote the accomplishments of businesses focused on the employment of females in the trucking industry.
Companies making the list this year were listed alphabetically, beginning with AGT Global Logistics, founded and led by Angela Eliacostas, WIT’s 2018 Influential Woman in Trucking. AGT also made the 2019 list.
Other repeat winners are American Central Transport, Boyle Transportation, Carbon Express, Carter Express, Centerline Drivers, Day & Ross, Dupre Logistics, Fifth Wheel Freight, Kenco, Kenworth, Knichel Logistics, NFI Industries, Odyssey Logistics & Technology, PACCAR Parts, Palmer Trucks, Peterbilt Motor Co., ReedTMS Logistics, Roehl Transport, Ryder System, Schneider, Total Transportation of Mississippi, Transport America, Trimac Transportation and YRC.
WIT saluted AGT, Kenco and Knichel as top women-owned businesses last year. Other female-owned companies named to the 2020 best places to work list are Aria Logistics, Bennett International Group, Brenny Transportation and Rihm Family Companies.
Also among the 2020 Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation are Artur Express, Auction Transport Services, Averitt Express, B.R. Williams Trucking, Big M Transportation, Booster Fuel, CalArk International, Cargo Transporters, Carvana, Certified Express, CFI — Contract Freighters, Clean Harbors, Cumberland International Trucks, Dedicated Systems, Dot Transportation, Dynacraft, Epes Transport System and EROAD.
Others are Estes Express Lines, FedEx Freight, Frito-Lay, Garner Trucking and Gulf Relay.
Herc Rentals, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, JF Moran, JR Kays Trucking, JX Enterprises, Landstar System, Matheson Trucking, May Trucking Co., McLeod Software, Michelin North America, NAPA Transportation, National Carriers, Navajo Express, Old Dominion Freight Line, Omnitracs and OTR Capital.
Rounding out the 2020 list are PACCAR, Peach State Truck Centers, Penske Transportation Solutions, PGT Trucking, Prime, Riverside Transport, RPM, Sunrise Transport, Sunset Transportation, Trailer Transit, Transfix, Transplace, Transport Services, Trimble, Tri-National, Truckstop.com, U.S. Xpress, US Autologistics, Volvo Group North America, Walmart Transportation, Waste Management and Werner Enterprises.
Brian Everett, publisher of Redefining the Road, said factors considered include cultures that foster gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; and professional development and career advancement opportunities.
More than 13,000 votes were cast to identify the companies named to this year’s list. The companies will be recognized at the virtual WIT Accelerate! Conference & Expo Nov. 12-13.
